What is Revoluzen?

Revoluzen is a self-hosted data platform that runs entirely inside your own network, covering data pipelines, a governed lakehouse, analytics and verifiable audit evidence. Its orchestrator, Revoluzen Flow, is open source under Apache-2.0. It is built by Revoluzen Technologies Pvt Ltd, a company registered in India.

What is Revoluzen Flow?

Revoluzen Flow is an open-source data pipeline orchestrator from Revoluzen, published under Apache-2.0 and installed with "pip install revoluzen-flow". It provides a visual pipeline canvas alongside SQL and Python steps, scheduling, retries, per-step resume, idempotent backfills and detailed run history, and it supports 100+ connector types.

How many connectors does Revoluzen Flow have?

Revoluzen Flow supports 102 connector types in its open-source build, covering relational databases, object storage, files and SaaS REST APIs. Enterprise systems of record — SAP, SAP HANA, Oracle, Teradata, IBM DB2, Informix, Salesforce, Workday, NetSuite, ServiceNow and Dynamics 365 — are part of the commercial Revoluzen Flow Enterprise edition rather than the open-source build.

What is the difference between Revoluzen Flow and Flow Enterprise?

Revoluzen Flow is the free, Apache-2.0 orchestrator with the complete canvas, scheduler, run history, reliability checks and Copilot, and it has no row caps, connector throttles or time limits. Revoluzen Flow Enterprise is the commercial edition, adding change data capture via Debezium, enterprise systems-of-record connectors, workspaces with dev-to-prod promotion and approval gates, a Postgres metastore, external execution providers and high-availability topologies.

Is Revoluzen an alternative to Fivetran, Airbyte or Apache Airflow?

Revoluzen Flow addresses the same problem as those tools but with a different deployment and pricing model: it runs on your own infrastructure and is licensed per environment rather than metered by rows or compute. Compared with Airflow it adds a visual canvas, built-in connectors and reliability checks rather than being code-only; compared with hosted ELT services it does not copy your production data onto vendor infrastructure.

What is Revoluzen Catalog?

Revoluzen Catalog is Revoluzen's governed lakehouse, built on open table formats on your own object storage. It provides enforced medallion layers with data contracts, dimensional and conformed-dimension modelling, column-level lineage, a knowledge graph over datasets and owners, and a governed SQL endpoint with row-level security and column masking. It is currently in early access.

What is Revoluzen Studio?

Revoluzen Studio is Revoluzen's analytics and reporting product, providing dashboards, paginated reports and a governed query layer that runs inside your network against your own warehouse. Every figure resolves through a defined metric on a governed model, and it exposes a governed MCP server so AI assistants query the semantic model rather than raw tables. It is currently in early access.

What is a verifiable execution record?

A verifiable execution record is an Ed25519-signed receipt that Revoluzen Evidence emits for a pipeline run, covering its inputs, outputs, code version and result. Anyone holding the receipt and the corresponding public key can verify it offline with a standalone open-source tool — without access to Revoluzen's servers, the original system, or an active subscription — which is what makes it usable as audit evidence years later.

Open source & licensing

Is Revoluzen open source?

Revoluzen's orchestrator, Revoluzen Flow, is open source under the Apache-2.0 license, and the Revoluzen Evidence verifier is open source as well. The commercial editions — Flow Enterprise, Catalog, Studio, Console and Mobile — are proprietary and licensed separately. Revoluzen publishes exactly where that boundary sits rather than leaving it to be discovered.

Can I use Revoluzen Flow in production for free, commercially?

Yes. Revoluzen Flow is licensed under Apache-2.0, which permits commercial use, modification and redistribution. You do not need an account, a license key, a trial or any agreement with Revoluzen, and you are not required to notify them that you are using it.

Is the free version of Revoluzen Flow limited?

No. The open-source build of Revoluzen Flow has no row caps, connector throttles, user limits, pipeline limits or time-based expiry. The differences between it and the commercial editions are capability differences — change data capture, enterprise connectors, multi-environment promotion and high availability — not artificial restrictions on the free build.

How much does Revoluzen cost?

Revoluzen Flow is free under Apache-2.0. Revoluzen's commercial editions are licensed per environment on an annual basis, quoted rather than listed, and are never priced by rows processed, compute hours, seats or connector runs. The price depends on how many environments you license, which commercial connectors you need and what support response time you require.

Will Revoluzen relicense the open-source core later?

No. Revoluzen's published commitment is that the Flow orchestrator core remains Apache-2.0, that bug fixes are never gated behind a commercial tier, and that the open build will not be given artificial limits. Apache-2.0 is also irrevocable for versions already released, so existing code cannot be taken back regardless.

How much does Revoluzen Flow Enterprise cost?

Revoluzen Flow Enterprise costs $99 per month per production environment on the Team tier, with development and test environments free and no limit on developers; the Business tier is $499 per month per production environment or site. Organization-wide, air-gapped and sovereign deployments are a flat annual agreement, quoted. Nothing is priced per row, per run or per seat.

How are Revoluzen services priced?

Revoluzen services are fixed prices for defined deliverables, never hours: Quick Start at $499 one-time, a verified pipeline or dashboard build at $149, a verified custom connector at $499, migration from $999 per source system, and AI workflows from $399. Support is $99 per month per organization; production care is $199 and managed operations $399 per month per production environment. Each package states what is included and what is not.

036 questions

Deployment & security

Is Revoluzen self-hosted or cloud?

Revoluzen is self-hosted. All of its products run on infrastructure you control — a laptop, an internal server, or a fleet of environments — and none of them require an outbound connection to Revoluzen in order to function. Revoluzen does not operate a hosted service that holds your data.

Does Revoluzen software collect telemetry?

No. Revoluzen software sends no telemetry, usage statistics, crash reports or license checks to the company. There is no setting to disable because nothing is running, and the claim is verifiable with a packet capture on an installed instance since the orchestrator core is open source.

Can Revoluzen see my data?

No. Your source data, credentials, pipelines, run history, models and reports remain in your own systems at all times, and Revoluzen has no mechanism to access them. The only information the company holds is what you deliberately send, such as an email enquiry or material shared during a support case.

How do I install Revoluzen Flow?

Revoluzen Flow installs with "pip install revoluzen-flow" and starts with "revoluzen open", which serves the interface on 127.0.0.1:8001. The package on PyPI is named revoluzen-flow. The server binds to loopback only, so it is unreachable from the network until LAN access is explicitly enabled with REVOLUZEN_FLOW_ALLOW_LAN, and it stores state in a local SQLite file with connection secrets encrypted at rest.

Does Revoluzen hold SOC 2 or ISO 27001?

No. Revoluzen Technologies does not currently hold SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001 or an equivalent attestation, and states this openly rather than implying otherwise. Because the software is self-hosted, the operational controls around it are generally the customer's own, and Revoluzen will help document that for a procurement process.

Does this website use cookies?

No. revoluzen.io sets no cookies of any kind, runs no analytics or advertising trackers, and serves its fonts from its own origin. That is why no cookie consent banner is shown — there is nothing to consent to.

043 questions

AI

Which AI model does Revoluzen use?

Whichever one you choose. Revoluzen's Copilot can run against a local model such as Ollama, so no prompt ever leaves your machine, or against a hosted provider using your own account and keys. Revoluzen does not resell tokens, meter AI usage, or route prompts through its own infrastructure, and all 26 Copilot tools are scoped to the asking user's permissions.

Can Revoluzen run AI features completely offline?

Yes. Pointing the Copilot at a locally hosted model keeps every prompt on your own machine, and this is a supported first-class mode rather than a degraded fallback. The products function fully without any frontier model; the Copilot simply drafts less fluently.

Can an AI assistant query my data through Revoluzen?

Yes, through the governed MCP server in Revoluzen Studio, which exposes defined metrics and the semantic model rather than raw warehouse tables. Queries respect the permissions of the person asking, so an assistant cannot read anything its user could not open directly.

Company

Who is behind Revoluzen?

Revoluzen is built by Revoluzen Technologies Pvt Ltd, a company registered in India. Package names and environment-variable prefixes can differ from product names while they are migrated with compatibility shims, so that existing installations keep working.

What happens to my data if Revoluzen stops trading?

It stays where it already is — on your infrastructure, in open table formats, in your own database — because Revoluzen never holds it. The Apache-2.0 Flow core cannot be withdrawn, Evidence receipts verify offline with a standalone tool that does not depend on the company, and source escrow for the commercial products can be discussed as part of a contract.

How mature is Revoluzen?

It is early, and the company says so on each product page. Revoluzen Flow is published at version 1.0.1 on PyPI and is usable today; Catalog, Studio, Console and Mobile are in early access with design partners. Connector maturity is published per connector, and none is yet marked production-ready.

Does Revoluzen customize its products for a customer?

Yes, through supported extension points — custom connectors, pipeline templates, SQL and Python steps, policies and configuration — and never by forking the product core. A need that many customers share goes on the product roadmap instead, so every customer stays on the same upgrade path.

What services does Revoluzen provide alongside its products?

Revoluzen provides assessment, implementation and integration, enablement and training, and ongoing support or managed operations for its products, each priced as a separate line item from the software license. Managed operations run inside the customer's own infrastructure; Revoluzen does not host customer data.

How do I contact Revoluzen?

General enquiries go to hello@revoluzen.io, evaluations and licensing to sales@revoluzen.io, and vulnerability reports to security@revoluzen.io. Revoluzen's stated practice is to reply with a technical answer rather than route you through a qualification call.
